2023 Art Competition Guidelines

Introduction

Now in its 16th year, this popular program has been a permanent part of the curriculum since inception at the Las Vegs Academy of the Arts. The Showgirl Legacy Foundation (SLF) Annual Art Competition brings together more than 250 art students and professional artists yearly to express their creativity through artworks of the Showgirl.

This educational program consists of iconic dancers from the spectacular stage shows modeling an authentic Showgirl costumes, and a panel of entertainers for reference stories. The artists submit their artwork for the chance to win cash prizes, art materials, and the opportunity for their artwork to be included in the showgirl art exhibit that is showcased in various venues throughout the state of Nevada. Previous competitions and exhibits have been on display online, at Blick Art Materials, Barnes & Noble, the Nevada State Museum, and the Reno Historical Society. We have been featured with Vegas PBS, NBC, The Washington Post, and The New York Times.

We encourage and accept various art forms of your choice that represents the iconic, classic showgirl/dancer from the stage show spectaculars.
